changes to stamp duty holiday

From today (1st of July 2021) until the 30th of September 2021 the threshold for no stamp duty will be £250,000 for residential properties and £150,000 for non-residential properties and land in England and Northern Ireland. Since June 2020, for the first £500,000 buyers did not pay any stamp duty. However, the threshold now stands at £250,000, with 5% at £250,001-£925,000, 10% at £925,001-£1,500,000 then 12% upwards of £1,500,000.

First time buyers will now not pay any stamp duty on purchases that are up to £300,000.
