Nationwide announced this week in their August 2021 house price index report that there has been an 11% annual increase since this time last year. They also stated a 2.1% monthly increase in UK house prices in August 2021. This they have said is the second largest monthly change in 15 years, as this is an increase of nearly £5,000 in one month alone. This means that the average price of a property in the UK now stands at £248,857.
