Ashford is located within the Garden of England and offers great outdoor spaces with the Northern Downs on the doorstep and a fifteen-minute drive to the coast. The town offers great rail links to London within 40 minutes and Paris in just under two hours. Ashford has many facilities, including restaurants, shopping arcades, cinemas, gyms, parks and a leisure centre.

Ashford itself is perfect for all the family, with local parks, a swimming/activity hall and a play centre for children with restaurants and local country pubs for the adults as well as great links to larger towns and cities for work.

The Wye Downs National Nature Reserve offers stunning views over Kent with walks fit from beginners to novices. If flatter ground is more suited to you, the Conningbrook Lakes Country Reserve is beautiful and also offers water sports on the lake. For woodland walks head over to Kings Wood in Challook, which has art sculptures throughout the wood from Stour Valley Arts, this area is an ideal area for dog walking as it offers large open areas and pathways between the wood.

Alternatively, if you enjoy heritage houses, Godinton House and Gardens offers a stunning walk through the gardens or even the 2km walk around the grounds.

Lastly, Ashford has great wildlife connections with Port Lympe about a ten-minute drive away and the Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden. Port Lympe is part of The Spinal Foundation and homes a range of species from Apes to Giraffes with a Safari and Port Lympe house and gardens on site. The Big Cat Sanctuary houses wild cats and is part of the European Endangered Species Programme. The sanctuary is not open to the public on most days of the year, although it does hold a few open days every year which are impeccable as well as private experiences.
